Thumping from the rear end on a right turn.

All seems to be well. I've drove 300mi since rear diff change. No leaks, noises or grinding.

That discolored fluid had water/moisture in it. It may be good now and hopefully you are ok but I would replace that vent valve and keep an eye on it and check condition/color every 500 miles at least, if not sooner.

As much water as was in it, likely it went swimming hot!

I'd be inclined to change the fluid once again within a few hundred miles. Just to be sure. Cheap insurance.
