Changed the oil and filter in it today, the oil I drained out looked clean along with what was in the filter. I put Mobil 1 in it since I run M1 on everything of mine. It does have a ticking noise only seems to do this after you first start it and it goes away after a few mins of driving, the oil pressure is good stays around 35-40 pounds at idle and stays between 40-60 psi driving. I know the 5.3's are noisy anyway. I'm thinking its either an exhaust leak or valve train noise so I'm not too concerned, now if its starts sounding like a lawnmower like my 2000 did then I'm going to be pretty concerned. It has 170,000 miles on it so I don't think the noise is nothing to be too worried about. Anyone have any other input

Is this the first time you put Mobil 1 in it? What weight was in the truck before the change? What weight after? Trying to figure out if different oils may have caused it, or if the same oil was used across oil changes.

It was ticking before the Mobil 1 the sticker on the windsheild said 10w-40 castrol gtx. I put Mobil 1 10w-30 in it along with some Lucas oil stabilizer.

The factory spec calls for 5w-30. I'd imagine the ticking you're hearing is lifters not getting proper lubrication at startup due to you using a heavier oil than you should. Next change, try 5w-30 Mobil 1 high mileage and see if you're still hearing the ticking after a few startups.
