No experience but I'm sure I can manage.. I also have a buddy helping me who's done around 16 cars.. Fabrication wise I can do anything I can draw up freehand or on cad with wood/fiberglass...but I'm looking to just replace the existing speakers I'm not looking to put 6 speakers in each door if you know what I mean... I'm planning on doing subs but I'm not ready for that project yet.
Budget is anywhere from 650-1300 but I rather not break bank I'm not looking to make any world record system just musically pleasing that thumps and is crisp ;)

if you run a 4ch amp designated for you door speakers..i would go with kicker KS series if you have the money its a few hunred for a set i believe ... but if you dont have the money then settle for the DS line up i had the kicker QS series for over 3 years and never once dissapointed me and i play my music loud as hell

Mob and qf also chimed in saying addictive audio? And focal someone else mentioned hybrid audio? Only one I have heard of out of those is focal lol...reason why I'm not doing subs yet is because I'd like to replace my stock speakers first....i think doing subs first world be like going ass backwards...I'm looking at fi subs in the near future though!

which amp are you running? I'd go with Kickers or Focals.

Comps up front, coax in the rear. Spend the money up front, that's where you sit. Use the rear for fill. 4 Channel amp. Or if you're not going super huge with the sub a 5 channel. Seems like you're going too large to use a 5 channel, though. For your price range you can get some Kicker QS65.2 up front (about 400). And then some Kicker KS65 in the rear. Run them off a 400.4 and you're good to go!

Of course you should go listen to a bunch of different speakers first. I don't know how you like your music.
