Time for rear shocks on the burban will these work ??

Purchased it last summer so dont know complete history of it


Ride has been horrible and when doing oil change last week mechanic confirmed that rear shocks are GONE, TOAST !!

Dont want to dish $$$ for the OEM elec shocks$$$$


So will these work ?? Do I have to mess with rear springs ??

Dont want to wait 3 weeks for shocks from Amazon. Might hit up a wholesale GM dealer here in Dallas that post cheap on ebay

Will they fit.... Yes.

But...

You will need to splice resistors into the wiring that plugs into your current shocks near the top.

Also, you most likely also have the G69 "Auto leveling" rear suspension which means they are air shocks.

So if you don't reinstall an air shock then you will end up with the rear end of the truck sagging due to the softer rear springs and you will also have to disable the compressor which may also set a service suspension message if not done properly.

So in order to swap to those shocks you would also need resistors and rear springs to do it "correctly".

Yes, that's what I have on mine which are OE. Your springs should be changed too. 45H2164

Already have a "service suspension" message flashing in the message center. 99.9% sure they're original shocks from 2007

Oh yeah. You'll have to do something to trick the computer into believing the everything is working stock too.

That "something" would be 3.9 ohm 25 watt resistors wired into the plugs that normally go to the shocks...

AND...

Disconnecting the battery and pulling the fuses for the ALC (auto leveling compressor) and reconnecting the battery.

Well I was a bad monkey and went this direction lol Couldn't beat the deal not having to mess with replacing rear springs and saving almost $100 going with delco shocks and springs.

Comes with resistors to bypass the service suspension warning on dash

Not a bad deal for $112 shipped after tax

Can't wait to remove the original 13 year old/200K mile factory rear shocks from my burban lol. SO F'ING tired of the sway floaty boat handling it has now
