I have had 50% on all my trucks for years. Been pulled over for speeding but never for tint. 20% on all side windows and the 50% on the windshield is the perfect combo.
50% windshield tint strip on the windshield or the whole windshield? Is it legal in GA? It illegal across many states in the midwest. (The whole windshield).

I think I'm just gonna match the front 2 windows with the factory tint in the rear and give that Lumar windshield tint a try, I love the look a tinted windshield but if anything was to happen and they saw that I'd most likely be screwed because they would claim my view was obstructed

20% is light smoke tint. 30% would be suicide on your windshield at night. 50% is equivalent to the factory dark smoke tint built into the glass which is selenium and cobalt. I use to work at the glass factory in Mt. Zion, IL. where much of Tahoe, Yukons, Escalades, etc. glass came from. I was one of the guys that worked on all of the automation at that plant. I calibrated, repaired and troubleshot the scales that weighed in all of the selenium and cobalt for our factory tinted windows. You all can thank me later! hahaha

You may have measured weird at your plant, but the rest of the world uses visible light transmission.

Tint is measured by VLT. Factory is around 18%. Light smoke is 50%-70%. 35% just into the range where it's tough to see in. The next state over from me is 70%, which is ridiculous because most sunglasses are 20%-40% and AFAIK there's no law against sunglasses at night. *cue Corey Hart*

70% is pretty light. You should be able to see pretty decent at night. My tint guy does a lot of 50% on windshields. His truck has 20%, and he did 5% for a show car before.

Windshield tint is illegal in every state. However some states let you get a doctor's note.

Be advised, if you have a Dr note you cannot drive a vehicle WITHOUT tint then. It would be the same as driving without corrective lenses.

That's exactly what it is, looking at it you would never know it was tinted unless you're parked in direct sunlight and looking at it from various angles...it looks like there's a rainbow on your windshield

Didnt know that was an option. Thats exactly what i want

As far as I'm aware this does not allow windshield tint, only darker tint on the side windows. I myself have that Doctor's note and it only allows darker on the front two windows. May be different in other states, but I really can't see any state allowing windshield tint below the AS1 line. I just did my windshield because it makes my Tahoe look that much more black.
