Inside the light housing itself? You're right, it does interrupt the ground. I took the light apart and there's a metal weight that acts like a pendulum. I even tried wiring to the bar that surrounds that pendulum.

That weight is the switch. I just soldered to either side of the light contacts, where the bulb snaps in. Make sure polarity is correct for LED's.Inside the light housing itself? That's what I was aiming for. The other night I had to pull over and check under the hood. It was dark and all I had was my phone for light. It sucked!You've seen mine, right? Kinda like disco lights lol. I kept mine all on the hood.
