Inside the light housing itself? You're right, it does interrupt the ground. I took the light apart and there's a metal weight that acts like a pendulum. I even tried wiring to the bar that surrounds that pendulum.

That weight is the switch. I just soldered to either side of the light contacts, where the bulb snaps in. Make sure polarity is correct for LED's.

Just talked to a trans guy, $1500-1800, depending if it needs planetaries or not. He wanted $800 to just replace what was wrong instead of a whole rebuild, so what's the sense in that? He said doing that, we night get another year or 2 out of it. Do it once, and do it right! In the long run, it'll be less money. On a high note, I just sold my Jack for $20! So now we just need $1780. We're almost there.
