I have to tighten up the connections on the cable super tight. Otherwise, I get that all the time with mine.
Maybe try detaching, then reattaching the cable (both ends), and make sure to tighten down the screws as tight as you can (only with your fingers!) you can even wiggle the adapter back and forth a bit while you’re doing this, to get even more force on it.
I tried that a few times. Kept doing it.
Take the tech2 apart, blow on the connectors like a Nintendo 64 and put it back together, try again.
Did that too, took the obd connector off--both pieces, and blew into those. Unscrewed and pulled out the connector from the unit itself, then screwed it back in and hand tightened the hell out of it. I even kept changing the position of the tech 2, just in case there was still a loose connection. Nothing. I don't know what the deal is.
