Mechanic says I need an intermediate shaft, not the pitman or idler. I hope he knows what he's talking about. @Sam Harris didn't you just do yours? What were your symptoms and which one did you get?
Get the AC Delco one when I had the Escalade the wheel would feel loose and it clunked a lil bit, I think I got mine off EBay replace the green bushing when your in there too

Hey while you guys are talking steering. I have been getting a surge through my power steering sometimes turning to the right while driving.
Guy I was talking too reckons it's a sensor at the bottom of the column.
You guys delt with this issue before?

Hey Tony, I got this one:

Genuine GM Parts 19329330 Upper Intermediate Steering Shaft https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07RZ2Z...abc_742ZNEYEP4F8G6PKAXV7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Crazy! It went up $10 since I bought mine..!

I was just having some clunking noise / feel. It had done that since I owned the truck. I don’t honestly think it’s something that would cause any actual issue, just an annoyance.

Thx for the input. Only bearing I saw was from Dorman. Know of a different one? Grabbed the GM one.20210604_163814.jpg

Sorry Tony I'm not really familiar with it. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in.

That's the one I just ordered, thx @Sam Harris. I hope this is the issue I'm having. I just have alot of play in the steering wheel-- and it SUX!! Did you also replace the bearing?

Nope. I just replaced the shaft. There’s a sensor in the stabilitrak models, but I don’t have that (thankfully)

I think this is the bearing: https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oem-p...9eXVrb24meT0yMDAzJnQ9c2x0JmU9NS0zbC12OC1mbGV4

(This says with “active brake” which I believe refers to stabilitrak)

Regarding my previous sentence, “sensor”, I think I was actually thinking of the bearing, not a sensor.
