The 2nd muffler came today. @iamdub do you have a pic of your dual muffler setup all welded up? I already know I'm gonna need to show the pic to whomever is gonna weld it up.

These should be sufficient. I did weld that cross member back in.

It looks really crooked here, but that's just cuz the driveshaft is angled downward so much from the rear end drooping since it's on a lift:

That cross member seems so flimsy I've seriously considered removing it, think it's really necessary? I guess it wouldn't be all that hard to chop it out completely and build a simple bolt-in replacement out of some strong.

This is how I know y'all be getting too old and stuff.

Serious question, tho....instead of two mufflers why not just put cats back in and run a more stock exhaust setup if you're trying to quiet it back down??

It's definitely nothing majorly structural. That's why I had no qualms with slicing out that section to make the exhaust job easier. I thought I was gonna have to notch it for clearance, anyway. But it went back in as it came out.

I don't know if replacing it with a stronger one would have any benefits. They design these things to have crumple zones or even just have a specific amount of flex in certain areas and this may be one of them. Or, it's just to give the front of the fuel tank a ledge to rest on until the straps are tightened as well as a place to mount the FSCM.

After spelling out those thoughts... Fcuk it. Replace it with a stout one if you want.
