What exactly is different? Both have projector and LED trim from outside, can you tell from the exterior or only popping the hood?

You can tell from the exterior (at night)
In LS, LT and SLT trim all of them have projector but halogen bulbs
Only in GMC Denali and Chevy LTZ HID with projector is available
In GMC drl are across the board same on all models
In Chevy only LTZ has the brightest drl , LT and LS have very dim Drl (u cannot change drl brightness even with the LTZ headlight installed its something related to the harness, I don't remember)

You can install the factory HID but u gotta replace the whole headlight and they're very expensive (at least for me )

You can buy denali or LTZ headlight online with ballast. Ballasts are included in the headlight assembly and cannot be purchased separately.
( I like to keep things factory so I did my research )

U can install aftermarket HID but I don't recommend I installed them, but I removed them later sometimes the bulb went or the ballast created problem
so put yellow stupid halogens

Do your LED bulbs have the cooling fins on the back? The VLEDs do, and i dont know if the dust cap can be reinstalled or not. Ive been looking into this and would rather not go the aftermarket HID route. I understand it wont project light as far as the HIDs but Id be satisfied if the LEDs were just better than the crap stock halogens.

Hamd....I have done the same investigating and am I correct that if you switch out the whole headlight assy for the LTZ HID assy (which as you noted has the ballast attached) is that all you have to do for the HIDs? No harness issues or relay' power needed?? I am assuming so but that's the only unanswered question I have. Might be worth a switch out for me because I hate the halogens and prefer to stay w OEM parts.

The link above is just to confirm the ballasts are included in the Headlight assembly.

Now to your question, I don't know if there will be any harness issue or not
Definitely no relay power issue that's 100%

But I think (my best guess) it'll be just plug and play.
If I'm wrong correct me fellow members!
And if your spending 2000+bucks on headlights just get it done at the dealership, they'll tell you the pro's and con's to it .
