Wanna do it? I've identified 406 variations thus far and suspect there are more!
Lol I do not. I know what my ssv is rated for and that’s good enough for me. It’ll probably never tow anyways. Those days are over once I got rid of my 2500hd. Everything I own that I’d be towing is too heavy for it.

Ahh, that's another one I do not have listed, the PPVs and SSVs. Was yours the one with the motor pool hitch that towed a motorcycle recently? If not, and it came with a hitch, do you know what the hitch ratings and truck's ratings are? I'll add them to the list.

That wasn’t me. Mine has 3.42 gears, tow package with factory trailer brake controller and rated at 8200lbs. I can check the receiver when my wife gets home and update this post.

Not a bad person, but possibly an uninsured person if you get in a wreck while towing overweight.

Unlikely. I've never seen, heard, nor even read about a situation where an RV was weighed as part of an accident investigation.

I did my latest trailer incrementally. Short test tow, longer tow, medium-length road trip (~1000 miles), then cross-country through the Rockies. It also helps that I have several friends at GM who helped design the thing, and they told me what it can and can't do.

That’s what the receiver is rated at, not the vehicle.

The vehicle rating is based on the weakest link. My GVWR is 8600 lbs because of my brakes and government regulations. The truck could safely carry a payload much higher. Simply adding up my front and rear axle ratings gives you 9,680 lbs.

Ditto my rear axle rating. The rear axle itself can handle 8600 lbs. But the tires can't. Hence the 5500-lb rating.

Care to elaborate? What are your thoughts about the last two years being the same as the first three years (1500s)?
I noticed that too. I reckon then that the Hybrids would be the same as the other 1500s in their model year.
.
4x4
I have the same sticker as well but the max claimed is 6200 pounds and 6000 pounds for 4x4 hybrid versions...
the reason being the battery weights 200 pounds that is how you go from 6400 on the normal to 6200 pounds

I expect the normal 4x4 able to tow less as well because the 4x4 adds some weight

also the other reason is the Aspen Limited 4WD hybrid 5.7L V-8 6,000 is the exact same differential and transmission as the hybrid tahoe 4x4

I think it's likely the transmission cooler, transmission, rear differential being used.. effects the tow rating. this could explain the 406 variations

GU4 Rear axle, 3.08
GT4 Rear axle, 3.73 ratio
GT5 Rear axle, 4.10 ratio
GU5 Rear axle, 3.23 ratio
GU6 Rear axle, 3.42 ratio

I agree but that wasn't my question. What I was wondering was why is the Weight Distribution Hitch rated for 1000 pounds on the 2007-2009 and 2013-2014 1500 series trucks while the 2010-2012 1500 series trucks have their WD hitch at 1100 pounds?

I don't know if it helps but my build sheet says:
C6C - GVW RATING - 7,400 LBS
VR4 - WEIGHT DIST HITCH PLATFORM
G80 - H.D. RR AUTO LOCK DIFFERENTIAL
GT4 - REAR AXLE - 3.73 RATIO

What does it mean... ;) honestly is the hitch different? or do I have to hook up differently?

I don't have any real data, but it probably comes down to the load rating on the tires when they rolled off the assembly line and maybe the rating of the suspension springs etc
