trail blazer ss throttle body on denali

anyone ever tried it....have the opportunity to get one from a buddy dirt cheap but not sure if it"ll work instantly or if i have to get it tuned immediately....just did a flo pro muffler and k&n fipk...wanna do a ported throttle body and mass air meter before the tune...

I believe you will have to have it reprogramed immediatly. I sold a new TB to a customer the other day and Must Reprogram was writin all over the box.

if u can get it cheap, and plan to do future mods, i would grab it. but on a motor with just cai and muffler, it prob wont do much. what size are the stock t/b, the tbss t/b and the stock maf? you want the maf to be bigger than the t/b, or ATLEAST same size. lets say u have a 70mm maf and 80mm t/b, the 80mm t/b is only going to flow as much as the 70mm maf in front of it will allow

thanx for the info and suggestions....thinking about it,a bigger maf probably isnt necessary.....a stock tbss tb is 90mm and might be a bit much....the stock maf should keep up with a ported stock tb which is about 78mm....the bigger is better rule might not apply ...lol

Hey man, I'm getting ready to travel this very same road. If you find out for certain one way or the other please post up your results. Also is the plug different on this TB vs ours? We have 5 wires and I thought I read somewhere the TBSS has 6....

you got it....decided to go with a ported stocker from extremefi.com....put one on my partners 1999 denali and it works great....after i do mine and get it tuned i'll def. let you know....
