So I'm needing to change out my trailer light plug and also need to find a home for it because the mounting bracket has rusted away. Has anyone else mounted theirs in the bumper like this? Anyone done anything different? I'm not really a fan of the mounting bracket that would locate the plug where the hitch slides into the receiver.

I swapped into a 2014 rear bumper on my 2004 Silverado; I ended up with mine in that place. And I ordered a replacement so I had 7 AND 4 pin connectors.

I have an OE 7-pin trailer connector that's in good shape if anyone needs one. Just pay for the ride. I can get and post pics if there's any interest.

It installs in the OE hitch bracket without tools, it's a twist mount (a/k/a bayonet).

@Fless the OE bracket on mine rusted off so I would need to weld on something to make it work.
