Hello everyone! Forgive me if this already posted, but i'm new here. Should i flush the trans or just drop trans fluid and refill? Would like to hear everyones comments. Own '10 Tahoe 5.3L 4x4.

If you pump it out via the trans cooler lines you won't disturb any debris in your tranny. It's also much faster and not nearly as messy.

I'd just do the pan or the cooler line as others have suggested. I lost a tranny once to a flush about 20 years ago when I didn't know enough about them. After the flush the trans started slipping a few thousand miles later. The flush wasn't because there was a trans problem, just that I had higher mileage and wanted to change out all the fluid.

So is this general consensus to simply do a drain? I'm coming up on my 100K mile maintenance and want to make sure I get it right.

Took mine to a local trusted guy. Dropped the pan, replaced gasket and filter.
