The seal between the transfer case and tranny is leaking and allowing the tranny fluid to get into the transfer case, how big of a job is this? Drop the transfer and replace the seal or do you need to pull the tranny too?

Mine needed to be replaced, but I waited until my transfer case encoder motor went out on me. Very common issue with it getting stuck in 4lo and what not. I also had a bent fork inside of it as well. They only had to pull the t-case, and it was $1100.

This encoder issue is on the the 4wd trucks? I've got the Escalade with AWD, got a quote of $500 for pulling the transfer case and doing the seal
