Hi Folks,
I am having a weird tranny fluid level shown on the dip stick, 1997 Yukon 4x4 with towing package.
I had my transmission full service (fluid and filter replacement) done by Jiffy Lube in about 11 years ago. After the service, the fluid level shown on the dip stick at idle is about 2 inches higher than the top line. I quickly drained some fluid to normal level on dip stick and the truck will not shift in gear at all. So I added the fluid back to the previous level and the truck will run and shift normally as in the past. I had driven it like that ever since for about 11 year mostly on short trips occasionally towing.
I will be doing a long trip in June towing a boat/trailer (6000 lb) for a little more than 900 miles. Does anyone know why this happen to my tranny and do I need to do some preventative measurement for this trip.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Frank
