interesting. have any info on a link to a trans pan with a drain bolt?
Look on ebay for a 4L60E deep trans pan. I'd be surprised if you had the shallow pan design. They're cheap, I bought a chrome pan for $20 shipped. It wasn't great quality as everything is cheap Chinese made nowadays but did the job.
You can find them all the way to $200+ if you get an aluminum pan with cooling fins/tubes but they aren't necessary as you should have an external cooling system on your trucks.
I'd stay away from the kits you get at the parts stores where you drill a hole in your pan and put a hollow bolt through it, those tend to leak. You also have to be careful where you decide to place the drain bolt on those as you could find out it interferes with the valvebody and you can't get it back on afterward.
If you get a new pan then change the filter in the trans since you're going through the trouble of dropping the pan, make sure you get the correct filter as there are two different models, one for deep and one for shallow pans. And make sure you get the old filter seal out, they sometimes pull off the filter and get stuck in the valvebody.
I'll never understand why GM never built a drainplug into the trans pan as standard, most imports seem to have them.
GM also did away with the drain plug in the differential on most models I beleive. With my Trailblazer it had a diff drain plug in 02, but I heard lost it in 03 or so.
