I own a 2023 Yukon Denali with 915 miles. Tonight I was turning a corner and it slipped out of gear and would not move. I gave it gas and all that happened is the engine revved up like it was in neutral. Finally there was a clunk and it went into gear. I drove home (about 5 miles of stop and go traffic) and it seemed fine. Has anyone had this problem? Headed to the dealer tomorrow morning to have them do a transmission diagnostic check. Stay tuned.

I took it to the dealer this morning. They checked for codes, transmission fluid and found nothing wrong. Also took it out on a test drive with no problems. Hopefully it was a minor glitch.

Sure would have been nice if they would have checked fluid level since it did that after turning corner. Just wonder if level is low and pickup starved for fluid.

No dipstick for fluid level, they undo the filler plug and fill until it runs out at temperature, there’s a lot of fluid in the pan and that pickup pump sits pretty low. could be a sensitive P/R/N switch panel. do you remember if it stayed in D for sure maybe flipped to N, transmission I don’t think has feedback ability to flip to N

Then there’s the transfer case, don’t think there’s a neutral selector in Denali, but hey not sure.

Are the new ones able to have the transmission fluid checked? If so, did you?
Diagnostics was run, transmission fluid checked and the service manager test drove it. They couldn’t find anything wrong. I did a lot of stop and go driving today and it seemed fine. Only time will tell if it will happen again.
