I've got an 02 z71 tahoe with 235,*** miles and still going strong have absolutely no problems. In June I had the transmission rebuilt and it worked fine for the first 5 or so months recently, as I am out of warranty, I have noticed then when I step on the gas pedal when running 45 or 50mph the rpms will jump up almost like the transmission is not engaging and then they'll drop down and then jump back up and off we go. Also when hard braking, the transmission will clunk once I come to a complete stop.... I don't know what to do its full of transmission fluid. I'm thinking about taking to a mechanic and let them change the fluid. Anyone know what is causing this madness!

If you had a complete rebuild and didn't say no if they found something that was needed while tech had the trans apart, then that is by far the worst warranty I have ever heard of. Typically get at the minimum 1 year or 12-15k miles warranty. Usually double or triple that. Did they flush everything out when trans was done? Any codes flashing?

I'd take it back to the transmission shop where it was rebuilt and demand they diagnose/repair it under warranty. You're right at 6 months and 8,000 miles. No way should you already be having issues. Almost every trans rebuild I've seen comes with a 12 mo/12,000 mi warranty.

I give a 6 month 8,000 mile warranty on transmissions but I'd take it back and see if you can't get it done on warranty

Considering the symptoms it sounds like something is definitely wrong internally.

I went up to the transmission place today and turns out they went out of business in September which is not surprising. I'm gonna take it to one of my family mechanics and see if he can diagnose it. Thanks!

Here's a video of it slipping. It's not the best video and it does it worse but listen to it with head phones..
