So, my radiator fluid is maybe a thousand miles old. Shit looks like chocolate milk. Would suggest to my amateur mechanical brain, oil in the fluid. As far as I can tell my oil is still good. It's clean on the dip stick.
A friend of mine said if it's a bad seal or gasket, oil is under higher pressure than the coolant so may only send oil into the coolant and not coolant into the oil. This true?

If it is, is there a seal that is generally the cause of this? And is there a way to trouble shoot with out pulling apart the motor on my daily driver?

I've noticed no difference in performance.

Could be a leaky oil cooler in the radiator or something. Might want to change your oil and make sure water is not in there. It can also happen when there's a blown head gasket.

What year is your Tahoe? The 96-99 Vortec engines were notorious for the intake gaskets failing and causing internal and external oil and coolant leaks. Thats where I would look first. You said the oil is clean on the dipstick, but did the oil level drop any??

i would say your radiator is leaking internally. just had a similar problem with trans fluid in my coolant . if it were the intake manifold gaskets it would either leak out on the ground or burn up in the combustion chamber.time for a new radiator-good luck

I suppose that would explain having to put three quarts of fluid into my transmission a few weeks ago. So, if this is it, is it just the radiator it's self that should need replacing? I'll flush the transmission too.
Is our trucks of the kind where we have to pull apart the whole front end to pull the radiator or will it come up and out?

Pull the fan shroud and 4 bolts to the top radiator brackets, plus all the hoses and lines connected to it and it comes right out
