Whether they heard of the bulletin number or not, they are supposed to be trained to get the info from the vehicle owner and document all of it and relay to the tech and the first thing the tech should do is search for related TSB's, tech service bulletins, and address as needed. The incompetence of some dealer shops amazes me. Yet another reason I will always own the NBS 2000-2006 rigs.
Note- I’m finding apathy and incompetence in most ’customer service’ locations -not sure if it’s a lack of training or what. I was in an Advance Auto Parts store recently and while the parts person was looking up my items I asked if he knew who Arthur or Nick Taubman were, he said he’d never heard of either. Asked how long he’d been working there, he said ’almost 3 years’. I got my parts and left. That was six months ago, maybe I’ll stop in and ask him again……

Thanks for the info here - I used remote start quite often and I am going to share this bulletin with my dealer.

It definitely felt like a software glitch on my truck . Praying its not something major and /or mechanical.

I guess there was a software update, maybe they don't do the update unless there is a problem?
I do not think that GM requires the dealers to update all the modules to the latest calibrations available during PDI. This, I think, is a failure on GM's part. Especially early in the lifecycle when they are clearly making software improvements.

My opinion is that a good dealer would check these things and to it anyway, and then check them when they are in for service regularly; and advise on any critical updates. But, I do not know dealers get paid by GM; so the probably don't want to spend their tech's valuable time on things that won't be reimbursed...makes sense...but not great for the customer experince.

Weird how this doesn't happen to the '21 trucks. I remote start almost every time the yukon isn't in the garage and never had a problem. Like to get them seats and steering wheel heating up a bit before I hop in

You took the words right out of my mouth. They will not do the updates without payment.

21's used the tried and true vehicle architecture; the 22's on up use the VIP, including Google, etc, and the bugs are still being worked out.
