my dream for the silverado would be to put a twin screw SC and then a turbo on each side.

Supercharger to help get our heavy suvs off the line and moving quicker. The boost from twin screws and roots style s/c start from low rpms and build a nice flat torque curve. A centrifugal s/c and turbo don't have the lowend torque like roots and twinscrew s/c. On a lighter vehicle, I'd say go with a turbo or centrifugal. The power potential is greater at higher rpms. But on our big SUVs, I'd go twin screw or roots s/c. Chistoso has a Whipple, which is a twin screw design. I'm running a Magnacharger, which is a roots-style. Both are great units and have insant torque off the line.

I understood from reading that the IAT is higher on a whipple because the Magnacharger has some type of cooler on it?

Most well designed supercharger systems will incorporate a heat exchanger to keep the intake air temperatures down. The cooler and denser the air is the more power the truck will make, higher iat's can cause all kinds of gnarly stuff with too much timing. Methanol injection will dramatically drop the intake air temps, I plan to run both a heat exchanger as well as a healthy dose of water meth. Consider the heat exchanger to be the supercharger's radiator:

There's a huge sticky over at pt.net regarding the different forms of forced induction which covers the pros/cons of each.
