Are these the same size as my stock rotors? They seem bigger. These measure 13" across.

Yes, they are. The seem bigger off the truck. You should have seen the look I gave here when the rotors showed up for a buddy's Cummins dually...lol They DO seem beefier for sure. Also, keep in mind about the installation that although it won't hurt anything to do it otherwise, they are designed to last longer with the slots installed directionally "pointing" toward the front of the truck. For example, in the pic above we see the inside of the rotor hub, when looking at the slots, that would make that rotor the driver's side front.

One last thing, also make sure that he knows you want him to clean them well with brake cleaner. All rotors come with a "film" of metal protector on them, although the R1's don't have as much and aren't greasy like most rotors when they come, make sure he cleans them well before install.

With all brake installs, if the rotors aren't cleaned, it could cause a loss in braking overall until the protector is cleaned off by the pads, this could take a while. You will know right away if he hasn't when you drive off. He needs to make sure to service the calipers up to and including greasing the guide pins, make sure to use the metal hardware that came with the pads and fully flush the power steering and brake fluid. The brake fluid is a given considering the install of the lines, but the power steering fluid is just as important to take full advantage of the new hardware.
