This is the first time in this tread you have reported what drive format you are using. My "radio" is shown attached below. It has the Google Assistant built-in, but it is now disabled because it won't function unless I subscribe to a service in my owned car.
I have all my music in mp3 format.
The stick is the one I linked previously.
The stick is plugged in to the USB-C port under the climate controls.
The stick is file format NTFS.
If the stick is unplugged, it can take the system quite some time to recognize it once I've plugged the stick back in.
--------
Issues with using a USB stick for music in these "premium" cars:
There is no way to search/play a specific song via voice command (from the stick).
If two songs have the same title, only 1 of them will ever play, despite the songs being in distinct folders.
I have about 3,000 songs on the stick. The manual scrolling locks up after a few hundred.

I was answering the OP, they kept saying my radio may not have Google Built-in.This is the first time in this tread you have reported what drive format you are using.
Someone said in an earlier post (#9) that they had success when formatted to FAT32.
Suggest reformatting your USB flash to FAT32 (or perhaps trying a different flash drive already formatted to FAT32).
Also, FYI, ALL 2022 and later Model Year Tahoes/Suburbans/Yukons/Yukon XL's have the "Google Built In" infotainment system, so anyone reporting success in a 2022 or later vehicle has what you have.
I have the DAMN F*%(T)#@ Google assist and can't get the USB ports to recognize the USB A or USB C, I have tried 64gb and 128 gb formatted properly and I STILL have nothingI really need someone who has a vehicle that has the Google Built-in feature to chime in. Would like to know if the USB port are doing the same.
How did you delete Google? I'd love that, the damn thing constantly listens and talks at the wrong time when it "thinks" I summoned it.Google could be related. I deleted all things Google from my vehicle. Now the USB flash drive works fine.
Care to share how you "deleted all things Google"?
I canceled onstar before the trial period was even up because to the data selling they were doing (now they say they're going to stop doing), but even with no subscription to anything Google still tries to stick its nose in where we don't want it.
