You are freaking out over "what if" and "might" and "maybe"???

It really is a sign of what may be "likely" because of the abundance of them. 90 TSB's and multiple recalls, wish I knew the actual number, and GM is asking us to dole out hard earned money for rigs that are supposed to have already been put thru the wringer to avoid these problems. What they say they do before rolling out the new models and what is actually done may well be just "double talk". Don't get me wrong, I love the GM brand and have for years but I have seen this pattern before many times over the years and I am not the only one who doesn't recommend buying the first year or two of a new model because they actually have not been thoroughly tested and analyzed by the powers that be. I will not buy another brand of vehicle but there is also a reason I have read on here that the best years of the NBS 2000-2006 models were the 2005 and 2006 years. Hell, I read in another thread that a member here made sure he bought an extended warranty just because of the first year model of 2015 rig he bought and he laid out a list of what had to be corrected that backed up what he said. I know other manufacturers have similar problems with new model years but that is no reason to think it is ok for GM to also be in that group. I feel lucky that I did not get that 2021 Z71 but I may jump for one in 2-3 years when the well known and documented bugs are worked out. Again, I will not deviate from the GM brand and I will always steer a prospective vehicle buyer to the GM brand but I will also share what is being said here in this thread and other threads.

I am not going to risk the safety of my family due to GM rolling the dice on bad springs. Having an engine come apart at a bad time is not worth the risk. They have a major problem and instead of doing a recall they are waiting for folks vehicles to break down and will fix them as needed.Flat out a piss poor way of handling this by GM. I did not spend 65k waiting for my engine to come apart. 90 TSBs and 4 recalls is enough to know these vehicles were rushed to market. Thank God Michigan has a great lemon law. I already got the ball rolling with GM today. Hopefully I don't have to go the lawyer route but if so the lawyer fees are covered under Michigan's law. :)

I’m not afraid of them. I’m getting a Duramax.. I got the 1st year of my vehicle,( 2014 JGC EcoD...) it did have a few quirks the 1st year, but after that settled in to be a great vehicle that was ahead of it’s time with features ....
We had warranty, they gave loaners, and we moved on...
Prepared for a few Yuk Duramax quirks, most things should incorporated and corrected by a spring build.....

I hear ya. We are turning in our current POS Tahoe via a buyback or lemon law and will most likely order a Suburban with the Duramax. By now it looks like they have most of the kinks worked out. The early production units no so much.

Use your state's lemon law, and then buy a Honda. Then, you won't have to fear for your family, or have to worry about being stranded anywhere. :)
