VXDIAG as Tech2 successor

Yes, Scott is right. I have a Flex Fuel vehicle with the virtual sensor, not an actual sensor, and sometimes the algorithm goes squirrely and needs to be reset with a Tech2 or similar. My Lemur BlueDriver can read the fuel trims and alcohol content in real time, and codes from most of the modules actually (the reason I've been delaying a Tech2 purchase for so long is the BlueDriver is actually very good and I only paid $99 Canadian on Amazon), but it is not bidirectional beyond standard code clearing.

What I need to do is reset the learned alcohol content of the fuel back to 3% and then reset the fuel trims so that the Flex Fuel algorithm starts over from a clean slate. I've never even seen an E85 station in my entire life, so there's no reason for the learned value to be any higher than 10%. Most fuel sold in Manitoba is labelled "May contain up to 10% ethanol".

That's what I was trying to do. The battery pull did indeed reset the fuel trims, but not the learned alcohol content, so they pretty quickly went back to the negative twenties as the computer thinks I've got E63 in the tank right now.

he must be flex fuel, that content sensor might need its own reset. via a scanner.

i read something here about someone need to go to the dealer to get the trims reset, i cant recall if he was a flex fuel or not. thinking he must of been.

I have one of these and can confirm it works great. I have the green one, bought from Amazon and it works with all Makes/Models... Software was a pain to setup, found out what I was given required 32bit windows for some reason. It will do anything a tech 2 can do. ABS bleeding, BCM AND ECU programming. It logs data like tech 2 so you don't have to hold a laptop while you drive

I see the OP hasn't been back in awhile. I wonder if it was a flop?
