Hello...

My 2004 Yukon SLE 5.3 did not come from the factory with a tow pkg. I tow a 5000lb boat with my truck and wanted to start towing it with the Yukon.

What do I need to make my Yukon able to tow? I know about the hitch and receiver, but should I do anything else? I know most factory tow pkgs come with beefed up alternators, tranny coolers and the like, but do you actually need those things? I want to do this right so I don't blow my tranny or alternator. My Yukon is also about to hit 100,000 miles, so is it even smart to try towing with it? Its in great shape and has always been serviced based on factory schedule.

Thank you in advance for your help.

lights, hitch receiver and get a tranny cooler. You can get a B&M one, or TCI from Jegs.

Thanks...good to hear you are towing with 150K...I usually sell my vehicles once they hit 100K, but this Yukon has been bullet proof so far so I'm keeping it...

I'll check out the tranny coolers...
