How many watts rms can the stock 105 amp alternator take? Right now my subs are at 500rms but I was thinking about getting 2 sundown audio EV3's which will run at 1000 watts rms. Could the 105 alt handle that

I'm running a memphis 1000 on my 145a alt. But I have electric fans too and they pull a ton. No problems here

I upgraded to 160 amp. Really easy to do and uses the same belt. You only need a new belt if your old one needs replacing. Plug and play.
The only problem I have with getting a new alt is I just replaced the stock one 2 months ago. So I just want to get the most out of the one I have, which should be 1000 or under right?

You could always sell it and buy the 160 amp one. Mine was actually the same price as the stock sized one.

Wow, 253 amp? I'd like to see how that works out. How cheap?

What size wiring are you running? If your electrical system is up to par, the stock alt might be able to keep up. What battery(s) are you running? A good battery, 1/0 wiring, Big 3 upgrade, I would think could handle the power. Can always add a 2nd battery too.

Power Select part# 8292253 , $140 CAD. Stock wires with a Red Top battery, but will do the Big 3 Upgrade asap just because it is older wiring and is an easy upgrade. Cheaper to do the 253amp alt. upgrade than dual battery conversion?
