The truck has a really weird squeak that corresponds to ROM. meaning faster the rpm faster the squeak. It doesmt sound like belt slippage. I isolated it to the alternator bearing so I went ahead and replaced the alternator. Squeak came back about a month later. The guy at autozone sait it might be the tensioner. He said if that's gotten tight or loose that it can cause a squeak like that. The truck has 189k so I'm thinking of replacing the tensioner as a precaution anyway. We just bought a camper and I'm looking for this truck to be its reliable tow rig for cross country trips and this squeak scares me.

Thoughts?

That is an easy fix. I can see that wearing out at that mileage.

I had a squeak like that and even though my belts looked pretty good I changed them all to Goodyear gator belts and noise is gone.

If you don't know the age of the tensioner and idlers and belts then do them all. Use AC Delco from Rock Auto for the tensioners and idler and the Goodyear Gatorback belts for replacement. Can get the belts from Rock Auto, also. What you are describing is a well known noise caused by these components.
