hey guys,
ive installed my old system from my last car into my hoe sometime ago and ive always had a problem where sometimes when i start my truck the radio comes on and sub powers up, but no audio plays from any of the speakers just my sub thumps to the beat of the song.. now usually to fix this i would turn off my truck open the door let it sit a few mins then start it again, sometimes it would work others i would have to do the process a few times... now that i have a remote start installed and the radio comes on twice in the process it never works right..

can anyone help with this issue? all my wires look to be connected and in good shape...

also i vaguely remember back when i did the install, i hooked up a wire so my stereo would stay on even after i shut my truck off, not sure if that makes sense or they all do that and i could be totally wrong..

thanks for any help you can give me..

i just saw this on crutchfield, while ordering a new deck.

If your vehicle was originally equipped with OnStar or a separate cassette deck, the factory amp remote lead, located in the nine pin plug at the radio, must be spliced to the amp remote wire of your new radio.

i never messed with the OnStar harness, and my factor sub is disconnected because its blown.. now could this be causing the problem with the HU not working right?

Sound like the internal amp in the HU is going out, time for a new HU, or get a 4 channel external amp and hook up to the preouts like suggested.
