do the ls have tow packages and higher gear ratio still? I don't need any of the fancy gizmos honestly.

It comes with the tow package, but the brake controller is optional (Advanced Trailering Package cost $250). It's the only option I got when I ordered the truck. Not sure what you mean by "higher gear ratio", they all come with 3.23 gears. The ten speed transmission has a very wide ratio spread from 1st to 10th, so it works just fine.

Interesting topic as it’s 100% personal preference. My career has been mostly focused on spinal management and low back pain affects most adults eventually as we are not built for sitting and driving. All latest research on ergonomics proves sitting position is one of the worst things for lumbar spine and degenerative disc disease. Some studies suggest it is almost as bad as smoking for health outcomes and disability.
Clinical studies show more pressure on lumbar disc sitting than standing with 20lb weight in each hand. Bottom line is prolonged sitting is bad for the back no matter what the sitting surface is like - it is more about the angle of spine and hip flexion. Reality is there is no good seat, just one that doesn’t hurt you as bad as others lol!

Any way it’s what “feels” right for you, some like a firm surface and some feel better on softer surfaces. Sitting is just ******* the back!

When I was test driving trucks I found the Jeep Wagoneer and Ford Expedition had the softer seats-way more plush. I prefer a firmer surface so the GM felt much better to me. Toyota was similar to GM but quality of materials was much better in GM but that’s just my preference.

Man, I own a 2021 Tahoe High Country and the car is great. No issues whatsoever. However, on longer road trips it gives me back pain. Sometimes really bad. Sometimes it's fine. I feel like I have to change the seat settings every time. I actually bought it for long distance trips but the seats are way less comfortable than I thought. So thinking about trading it it for something more comfortable.

Feels like even the Yukon SLT seats are way more comfy which I don't get as this is a trim level below the High Country. Same for the Tahoe Premier. Seats seem to be comfy but the High Country and Denali Seats suck.

I wonder what your take is on the seats and what you did about uncomfortable seats. It's pretty ridiculous to change a car just because of the seats but that is a huge factor for me and so I'm looking into the Escalade right and Yukon SLT now. Before I pull the trigger, I wanted to see what other people did in such a situation.
Agree~ my 2018 Denali w 68,000 miles are not as comfy anymore. See a little wear on the leather but not as soft for sure. Not sure if it is my padding or the trucks, butt....

I have owned every generation of Suburban/GMC Yukon XL 2000, 2004, 2014, 2018 - and every generation the seats have become more uncomfortable/ harder. The best seats for long distance were the 2004 Yukon XL - SLT that I had and still have today. I have driven cross country in the 2004 and the 2014 and shorter distances in the 2018. I got rid of the 2018 because they made it a SMV (Soccer Mom Vehicle) by putting electric motors for the 3rd row seats and raising the cargo floor 5" to house the motors for the seats. I have always liked the option of removing the 3rd row seats from the vehicle and leaving them in the garage. Best bet to fix uncomfortable seats is to go by an Upholstery place for cars and have them put different foam in the seats for you. Not sure if the Cadillac version would have more comfortable seats. Then you could order the foam for the Cadillac and put it into your Tahoe.

I have an ‘18 Denali Ultimate and I also started to dislike the seats at ~70K miles. I feel like the day I bought it and drove it 2,200 miles across country back home I had the perfect comfortable setup. My wife gets in and changes the seats and saves over my memory slot and I have never been able to find that spot ever again. I’m constantly fiddling with the seat. I almost prefer my wife to drive because the passenger seat is way more comfortable. I have about 105,000 miles now.
