What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

There is always the story of the transmissions that work until you change the fluid which gets rid of all the friction material built up over time.

This is what my trusted transmission guy told me about by 99 and as a result it’s close to 160k with no fluid change or issues, knock wood lol. Many others will tell you it’s an old mechanics saying.

Doesn't the trans filter catch the friction material? Or should a guy delete the filter that way the friction material stays floating around and keeps "doing its job".

I'll stick to changing my fluid yearly in all my automatics.

"in my opinion" if you change it somewhat often (like I do) you are fine, it's when you decide to change it after the "the book said 100k" then you are asking for trouble
the 100k gm notates in the manual is hogwash and is under the presumption you drove it 55mph or less for 100k, never towed, yada yada.
to each there own, but I change mine about every 20k, why? well for one when you have a warranty from a shop (not gm) most of them require it in order to keep your warranty valid.
so why on gods green earth would a 3rd party shop say that if 100k is in the manual???? put 2 and 2 together

When I took my 15 to the dealer at 98k, for the manual suggested, service of changing transmission fluid the dealer refused advising “they see too many problems” changing the fluid in high mileage vehicles. “But the book says 100k yadda yadda” they wouldn’t do it. Mind you I had no issues and called myself doing preventive maintenance.

Today I also changed my transmission fluid, as I do every ~10k miles. Worth the time and money for longevity sake. Keeping it at fresh as possible cannot hurt.

What brand and fluid are you using? Mine is coming up on that milestone.

Installed the rear sway bar, front will be coming once I find some replacement 38mm bushing for it.

I always just use AC Delco Dexron VI.
I use a harbor freight hand pump and ~15 feet of some clear tubing from Home Depot and I shove it down the fill tube and pump out roughly a gallon and then refill a gallon. (Therefore it’s it’s not a full drain and refill, but more of a refresh of a large portion of the fluid every 10k miles.)
Still shifting like butter at 110k miles currently.

At larger intervals of ~40k miles I drop the transmission pan and do a full filter change etc

Got my helwig front sway bar in along with duralast GLD sway bar links, ohhhh man what a difference it feels so nice . Also got a new catch can, old one was steaming like crazy making inside of the cabin stink like oil

Had to replace both liftgate actuator/lift support AND the freaking liftgate latch. Guess it was good to do both at once instead of separately.
