I use the HIR's for my high beams and HID for my low beams in projectors. The high beams work great now, way better than halogens.I used this on the water spots with a little piece of scotch brite pad. Works like a charm, with minimal elbow grease:
The 9011/9012 bulbs are great. 9005/9006 bulbs are halogens, rated at around 3250K color temp, and the 9011/9012 HIR bulbs are around 3600K, so they're still very stock appearing color temp wise. This is important to me. Then, they work off the stock wiring and require no ballasts or relays, and generate no more heat than the halogens. The 9006 bulbs put out about 1100 lumens and 9005's about 1800 lumens. Respectively, the 9012's rate at 1800, and 9011's rate at 2400, all four using same 55 watts. After a small very easy modification to the tabs on the HIR bulbs, they plug directly in to the factory sockets. So, way more light, and no monkey business with wiring, ballasts, relays, etc.
Jdpber what brand and model are those taillights? Can you share a link to them?
