@Red Rocket I know your getting tired of my question lol my bad bud but did you strip the chrome of the grille and if so how did you go about doing itReminds me of good times...when I had my Denali grill PTM with the center gloss black, like you did. Edit: I left mine to a friend that owns a body shop.

Never tired of your questions, don't worry. I looked into stripping the chrome, talked to chrome shops who said since it's on plastic they can't strip it. Looked at tons of YouTube showing chrome being stripped from plastic but not on things like grills where it's thick chrome. I bought a new grill and tried several of their methods on my old grill but just managed to ruin it. Stuff wouldn't come off without damaging the plastic. So I had my friend who owns a body shop sand the sh#t out of it and use some kind of super primer before painting and clearing it. He said no guarantee on how long it will last but it just made it through it's first winter with sand and gravel on the roads without chipping. I think the secret was hand sanding it for hours.@Red Rocket I know your getting tired of my question lol my bad bud but did you strip the chrome of the grille and if so how did you go about doing it

Word of mouth that a local place by me sells them for around $300. Obviously not quite oem quality. But have yet to check them out.I just realized, for everyone looking for HD hoods, what about LMC truck? They have a 00-02 HD hood for $515 shipped. If you have the money I feel like that's a reliable source?
