well, seems like I can't win this weekend. replaced Ignition housing and the ignition cylinder. The damn truck never goes into the relearn procedure and the security light blinks nonstop. No 10 minute, 20 minute, or 30 minute window works the light just never stops flashing to even allow me into the first step of the relearn procedure. So, from research online and talking to a few 12volt installers I used to work with, we believe that maybe the BCM is on permanent lock out.

Anyone here ever deal with this? I ordered a BCM should be here Tuesday.
Do you happen to have a Nelson tune?
I know from experience that Nelson locks their tunes. And because of that, you cannot do security relearns, or even add a remote start bypass module to bypass the Passlock 2 security. I had this problem when installing a remote start on a truck with a Nelson tune. I went through three frikkin bypass modules thinking they were bad, but in reality it was the tune that was the culprit. Being "locked" it will not adjust, bypass, or change ANY Security setting. I finally ended up having to go old school and bypass it with resistors at the steering column. That way instead of telling the computer to "bypass" the Security and let the engine start, the resistors just fool the computer by sending the proper resistance that would be sent when the key was in the IGN. Even if you have don't have a Nelson tune but you do have ANY custom tune, I would contact your tuner and ask if they lock the computer.

No Nelson tune, although I'm about to call Allen up at the shop and ask if he'd tune it after this BCM comes in... Pending the outcome of it actually allowing me to relearn the new key.

NP is actually down the street from my office.

The truck in question that I was fighting with had a Nelson tune and the owner called Nelson repeatedly and they kept telling him that they don't lock the computer anymore. But EVERYONE on PerformanceTrucks forums all said that Nelson does indeed lock the computer, no matter what story they give you. At least I figured out how to just "fool" the computer with the resistors. If you still have your old IGN switch cylinder and you can measure the resistance of it when the key is turned, you can actually bypass the factory Security with resistors that way. The one drawback is that it will ALWAYS be bypassed and that makes it easier for a thief to steal your truck. But hopefully you already have an alarm system with a starter kill or ignition kill.

Ordered a new AC Delco blower motor and some body plugs to delete the rear wiper since the motor is bad and even if it worked I'd never use it anyways

I am aware NP locks their tune. I am also aware of the resistor bypass, I was a Mobile A/V installer for many years. The problem is I still need to get access for the BCM to learn either the resistor or the new keys, no way around it.

Doesn't the dealer have to flash the bcm to your vehicle /vin?

To get it started? Nope, just need to learn the key resistance and then can be taken to get programmed afterwards, I have heard so much conflicting stuff its crazy. Some of the LSTech guys said if I am buying a new BCM i can get it to start, if I was using one off another truck I would have to get it reflashed, who knows, we will find out.
