Which magnaflow did you go with?

...12589...Got it off Amazon for about $105 with free shipping :) Really looking forward to getting it put in but will be leaving the following weekend for a nephew's birth so we'll see. :)

And that's the one that you find to be too loud now? That's the reason why I prefer to order the parts myself. I've been in that same boat before and do not like it at all and is pretty irritating...

Well I ended up with a Magnalow #12289. Works great. The billet grille showed up on Friday. My son and I installed that night. In his 11 year old vocabulary " Dad, that looks EPIC". It does add a nice touch. Cutting out the old was a piece of cake. No going back though.

What's the difference between the 12289 and the 12589?

The 12289 is a 5x8x24. The 12589 is suppose to be a bit quieter. I liked my 11259 at first, but it got a little louder after driving it a while. The wife says she is ok with it, so i guess i will leave it for now.

Scott is correct. The 12289 is a 5x8 24" case with center in offset out. The 12589 is a 5x11 22" case with the same center in offset out. Who knows if the shorter wider muffler is quieter then the skinny longer muffler?

I actually talked to magnaflow support a months ago. The guy told me the 5x11x22 was the quietest muffler they had, followed by the 5x8x24. Who knows if that is accurate though.

Sounds good to me. Awesome info! I'm still trying to get used the "Magnaflow world" cuz I've been in the Flowmaster world for so long :) On your mufflers, did they just slide into place to be welded (or clamped) in? I know that stock our exhausts have a 2.5" diameter and the size of the pipe on the Magnaflow is 3". I'm assuming that is good so that the exhaust pipe can slide into the muffler pipe?

Yes, mine slid right in. At least the front did, since it was shorter than the stock muffler i had to have a little pipe welded in to make the rear ends meet.
