Awesome! Hell yeah!Slapped it together on a whim. ***** still works!
Going to glue her together and slap it in. No time for a full sterio install right now. It'll work for now
Holy crap, $192 for an under hood light? I mean I love Milwaukee’s stuff but ouch.
What's the past tense of tweet? Tweeted? Twote? ****? Nah probably not thr last onePoor thing tweeted itself to death.
Very nice! Thanks Fless. [emoji106]Sam, those will look great on your Yukon! My upgrade was similar using 2015 Silverado takeoffs.
58f starting tempTimed how long it takes my oil to get up to operating temp. Kind of? Was eyeing pressure, knowing what it should be at a given RPM when hot. Got 18 mins. That was at about 80f ambient, with 0.7mi neighborhood speeds for 4 mins followed by a gentle freeway merge and going 60mph at about 1530rpm, freeway mostly flat. Coolant temp at time of freeway merge was 165f.
Long ass time for heat to make its way into the oil. Honestly I wish these rigs had something like my old Subaru did. Thing had a pancake housing that was an oil/coolant heat exchanger, where one side came off a tapped freeze plug, and the other went to the water pump (I think, don't quote me it's been 6 years).
Anyways it worked really friggin well for getting the oil up to temp quickly. Oil would track pretty closely to coolant temp. Wish these rigs had something similar
Just use a block heater, it’s an option you can add if it’s not there. Instant heat.58f starting temp
35mph suburban driving then freeway
10m for coolant up to temp. Just hit 206f on freeway on ramp
Still 18m for oil up to temp
Seems to me that a loose guideline on these rigs, would be coolant up to temp plus 10 mins for oil to reach full temp.
Need to do some poking to see what the most appropriate method, if any, exists for a heat exchange between coolant and oil. I'm aware the stock version runs it though the radiator, but I think that can be improved upon. It works great to cool the oil, but no accelerated heating will take place until after the thermostat opens, and I might argue that the OEM install would lengthen heating time, but I don't have a rig to test that one with
I wish. No outdoor power where I am. Nearest outlet is about 250-300ft away lmaoJust use a block heater, it’s an option you can add if it’s not there. Instant heat.
