Been at work forever. Not much time for anything . Installed my new plates a month ago lol. Still getting snow even today . Not a fan of 7 month wintersView attachment 243902

Me, being from west Canada, and lived in Kalifornia,.... I learned to VISIT the snow..... only visited Big Bear Lake, Lake Tahoe & Frisco, Colorado......then got the hell outta there!

But, that photo shows a nice contrast to your Tahoe.

So parts came in earlier than expected. Bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor was a ***** it get in. Had to have my wife help because my arm was too big to fit between the exhaust and driveshaft.

MAF was a breeze.

Got the new knock sensors in. Built the dam higher this time. Also found out that I had a pretty big oil leak from the oil pressure sensor so I cleaned and tightened that. Turns out that my socket didnt fit fully around the sensor without removing the valley pan bolt closest to it...

Removed the valve covers and thoroughly cleaned them. Tomorrow the harness for the knock sensor will be here and I'll put it all back together. Hopefully no CEL this time.

I was gonna paint the valve covers but decided against it.

I'd just scrub the vcs clean with some degreaser.

That's what I ended up doing. I used a bristle brush with some simple green. Once the majority of the grease was off i used some long tipped cotton swaps for the grooves and tough to reach spots and a wire brush for the stubborn parts. They arent perfect but they look 100x better. Maybe some day I'll pull the motor and give it a solid clean up... inside and out
