My heater core fittings blew up on me (plastic gets brittle eventually with heat cycles) hours away from home in the santa cruz mountains with the whole family in the rig. Clamped the hose to the heater core pipe directly, and filled up radiator with water bottles/melted ice in the cooler I had in the truck to limp it home. There's a lot I don't know. Like what's a valley pan gasket?
But what I do know is many have had the fittings go bad at the heater core. One of yours looked yellowish and it may be something to consider. Just my $.02.
But really...what's the valley gasket?
I would definitely replace those before they strand you somewhere.
