Took the Denali on my first road trip with it. 500 miles from Orange County up to Lake Tahoe. Loaded up with 6 of us, the dog, and all our accompanying shit. Was a bit nervous, just took it slow going through the mountain pass. It took it like a champ.

My evap leak came back, wracking my head trying to figure out what it is. Decide to check the purge valve, even though I just replaced it last year. Yep. Bad. 1 year and 1 month. Thanks Dorman. Luckily I had my receipt from Autozone so they swapped it with a new one. "Just one time though" they said at the shop. "Limited" Lifetime warranty means you get 1 new one, and that's all. Heh. Actively going to avoid Dorman in the future.

This is not true. Limited lifetime means as long as you own the car and no damage to the part that would come from incidents outside it's normal operating condition. Now nobody wants to just throw parts under warranty at a problem.

The manager at Autozone specifically told me that the "Limited" part of the warranty means they will only replace it one time. F*ckers. If it fails again I am not going to go back and argue with them for a $40 solenoid that failed twice. I'll end up getting it somewhere else, and hopefully a properly manufactured one. Usually I don't bother with Autozone but this was one of those cases I wanted to get the job finished that day.

Advance Auto pulls the same crap with warranties.

NAPA is 3 years/36k mile warranties on most, if not all products sold.

With reasonable limitations... As long as you basically did not damage the part on install, mis-use or return with missing components. It will be replaced.

If replaced, the new part comes with its own 3 year/36k mile warranty on the same conditions. Get a receipt for the exchange to reset the clock... A lot of people don't bother. They walk in with bad part and out with new part, no receipt on the new one.

They keep online purchase history for a few years, but I keep receipts in with my owner's manual and take photos of receipts (backed up on Google Photos).

I rarely have had to return a defective part to NAPA in the first place, but have never had an issue with anything I had documentation on.

The Dorman warranty is backed by Dorman, but always serviced by the retailer. Nowhere in the Dorman warranty document does it indicate that there is a limit on the number of times a defective part can be warrantied.
