What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I bought a bunch of cans of Super Tech foaming engine degreaser from Walmart and filled my manifold with foam. After a few minutes of soaking and the foam settling, I scrubbed every port with baby bottle brushes. I sprayed Super Tech brake parts cleaner behind the TB and into each port, scrubbed again then sprayed it with water from the hose through each port to flush it. I stood it up, laid it upside down, etc. while spraying to get the water to come out everywhere. I did this whole process a few times until the water flushing out was clean. Then I blew it out with the Dirty Harry blow gun. Never removed the TB or MAP sensor.

The oven cleaner seemed to work pretty good, I think I'm gonna call it good for now. I need to get this old engine the rest of the way out, I made some baggies with pieces of tape on them so I don't lose my nuts and bolts. I wish we had a pick and pull closer cause I would go look for the breadbox intake.

Long time creeper- first time post

We have had this '04 Tahoe LT since 2006 and it has been used as a daily driver, toddler hauling, and pulling the trailer. We upgraded the Wiff a few years back to a 2019 Yukon and she has been neglected ever since (the Hoe not the Wiff). She has been maintained but mostly just sat. I finally got some time to start getting her back into shape, so this is what I did the past two weeks- not just today.

1. New headlight assemblies, LED fog, LED tails, LED interior door lights
2. New Sony head unit, usb plug retrofit, back up camera, Viper Alarm/auto start, and 4 inch short-antenna
3. Complete inside/out detail
4. New headliner and dash grab handle
5. New Driver side OEM matching top & bottom covers with bottom heater from the Seat Shop
6. AVS vent shades and bug guard
7. Rear passenger window actuator

On the list for the next two weeks

1. I have 2013 Chevy stock 18's (currently sitting on stock 16's) to put on her but waiting until:

2. NNBS brake upgrade- waiting on the new AC delco gold rotors to come this weekend
3. wanting to give her a little 3" lift (would definitely appreciate any recommendations here because I haven't purchased anything yet)
4. New windshield wiper fluid reservoir and pumps (waiting so everything is out of the way and easier)

If you don't mind and have the chance... What units were used for the radio (Sony, but model #?) and the tail LED light assemblies?

Did the Sony play nice with the Bose amp/subwoofer or did you bypass that whole thing?

It integrated just fine with the factory Bose system and then added the back camera functionality and USB connection. I have just been using BlueTooth though- I don't really care about the Apple CarPlay/Android functionality. <edit> Although it is there if I want to use it.

They are a good fit, they look good, and they work well. The only negatives I have found is that the LED Controller does not adhere well inside the tail light cavity, so you need to use some additional adhesive tape to keep them from dangling. Also the metal screw eyelets are a bit cheaply made.

Wireless Apple Carplay is super-nice. Really glad I dropped the $ to get it.

I don't plan on drag racing this thing, and from my limited research it's the best cam for low rpm torque. I've been thinking about the dorman intake manifold, but I haven't been able to find any testing on it. Was looking at the ebay aluminum ones too, but I read that it will move the powerband up in the rpm. I should probably just clean up the stock one, but it's so ugly, and shaving it seems like quite a bit of work, lol.

I read that does intake manifolds sometimes don't seal like the oem, I bought one and it's has been sitting on the box for over 2yrs. So I can not confirm.

MAF cleaner showed up via prime. Sprayed it down and let it dry overnight. Reinstalled this morning while I was also airing up the tires of our vehicles.

Side note: wish our DIC would show tire pressures. I can see them via Torque app but it’s kind of a pain to plug the elm in, pair, and check.

Did my rear brakes and rotors yesterday as the weather finally cooled off. I may have waited a biiiit too long
