Started tearing this thing out finally. And i didn't even round out the torque converter bolts, lol.
Hoping to get it out tomorrow and get HP tuners ordered. Still have a few more things to buy, but I'm getting closer for sure

Hi all, Nic here from southern IN, swapped the cat eye and did 6" of lift with 22x10 Centerlines with 35x12.5s, headlights, tail lights on my 05 Tahoe LT this last weekend. Certified mechanic. Hope to be as helpful as I can around here! Cheers!
Welcome from Western MA!

Unlike other car/truck/SUV owner groups I have been with, people with bad attitudes and negativity don't seem to be here.

You'll find out quickly, the folks on this forum are helpful, respectful and friendly!
I am sure you'll fit right in...

What are your plans?
I got fancy wire loom and tesa tape, so im gonna get the bay cleaned up a little after I get this yanked out. Probably put a pitman and idler arm in while they are easy to get to. I still need to paint a couple things like the coil brackets and steam tube. But it's been cold and if I paint in the garage it seeps in and burns off on this furnace and stinks the whole house up. I got a thing to pulse the injectors so I can clean them, and new o-rings and little basket filters, but I'm not sure my injectors even have filters.
Was thinking about LS Droid/TunerPro for tuning, but I think it's probably gonna be worth it to just drop out for HP tuners, because there are a lot of videos for cam tuning, and it seems like most people just use LS Droid to remove VATS and stuff.

I also need to pin the electric fan to the ECU, and buy a wideband probably.
I should have just bought a crate engine, but building my own definitely gave me some more knowledge, which can't be that bad, lol. I probably should have bought a stock cam, or another engine with an unchewed cam, lol.
I am dub had to tell me about scope creep, and it's definitely real...

Took a day off of work and had lunch with a couple of friends, then drove her to two UPulls to see what I could find. Picked up a couple of Esky appliques that I will need to paint; each has a blemish on the outer edge. Trying to decide whether to color match or do them in (matte?) black.

so noticed my temp and compass went out on the rear view mirror a few weeks ago. do a google search and it looks like i need to get my soldering iron game on. good thing it looks super simple. last time i had to re solder a Climate control them resistors were tiny.....but i got em fixed first time round. so a win.
I need to fix mine as well. Sometimes the display works fine, then sometimes it's VERY dim, so dim that I can't even read it. You have a link to a good write up on repairing these? I've honestly never even tried, but I'm sure I could do it cuz I'm pretty good at soldering electronics and stuff.
