Howling sound coming from the front driver's side. I really don't want to have to replace the hub right now, does anyone know how long I can go without changing it out?
For safety purposes not very long, if you know thats what it is, might as well change it. Especially with them meaty tires.

Understood. I don't know for sure that that's it, but I think that makes the most sense. Now I just need to price it out.

Looks like the Detroit axle set is about $80 for both, and why not replace both at the same time, right? Anyone have any problems with Detroit hubs, or recommend something else?

Honestly I can hardly hear it over the exhaust, just when I'm decelerating so I haven't had a chance to check if it goes away when I'm turning.

You can go for quite awhile but then you will tear up the tire and other parts. So I really depends on how much you are willing to spend.

Everybody swears by Timken hubs and it seems any other brand don't last long. I replaced both of my fronts. More money but these trucks are ******* hubs, especially when you're running big tires or wheels.

I have had Timkens in 3 different gm SUVs and have not had one go bad yet. I have used other hubs and the longest they have lasted was about two years.

Just get some off of Amazon. I bought a cheapo and going on 11k miles with no issues. People tried to scare me out of getting anything but Timken especially with the heavy ass 24s, but I am doing well.
