Juat did a steering overhaul..new a.c. Delco steering box, a.c. Delco pitman arm was rather new so I reused it. Box sprung a leak and was acting weird in general. Also replaced the heim links on my steering and put some condoms on them to keep my girl safe lol.. my heims would squeal after a while so being bare they get exposed to too much., hopefully the boots hold up..they are made for off-road but are stronger than the factory tie rods..

Also did an in house alignment..it worked and got me to Sears for a real one without burning up my tires..

Where’d you get the boots for the tie rods? I’ve been thinking about putting a pair on myself.

Lol..I'm done with them until I can find something cool like the yukons have with led strips.. ironically my neighbors son was using my buffer to clean up his headlights while I was working on my truck..long story short...I just want new lights..

I'll have to check. I went on a road trip after working on my truck so I should be able to confirm when I get back home..

Where did you get those heim tie-rods? Is the stud that goes through the spindle tapered? I’ve been looking for heim tie rods and all the ones I’ve come across use a grade 8 bolt that goes through the spindle hole

Cleaned out the throttle body, then my friend came over with his Snapon scanner and monitored the sensor voltages, trims, and all the stored codes. Said the MAF voltage is a little off and suggested I clean it next. Cleared all the codes.

Motor ran and drove great for 2 evenings without any CEL or any troubles. Next cold morning, my wife started it up without any problem, got 5 minutes down the road and CEL popped with REP mode... had to let it sit there for 10 minutes until the temp got above 185, then shut it off and back on again so she could drive it. CEL was off by that afternoon when I went to take a look at it. Took it back to Autozone to see if they could pull any stored codes. Sure enough, P1515. Looks like that TB sensor is going to need to be replaced. The number printed on the sensor indicates it's an AC Delco... too bad I don't know where the PO got it from, I could warranty it.

Here's B&A pics of the TB. Definitely needed to be cleaned.

OH... and now there's a pinhole leak in one of the plastic side tanks on the radiator. Gotta love high mileage vehicles. :banghead:
