Coming home from work today this kid in a nice old late 70’s Chevy pickup is trying to get my attention at the stoplight, so I roll down the window he mentions that he didn’t see my brake lights come on when I stopped, so I get home and check them and yup they are out, I checked some fuses they were all good so I pulled the brake light switch and it’s bad so ordered an AC Delco off Amazon should have the Escalade back on the road Thursday night, with the adjustable pedals it’s a pain to get at.

I’m glad it seems to be an easy fix, GM doesn’t make it easy to get at with the adjustable pedals that’s for sure tho

I've found nothing in that area of the truck that's easy to get at. I just replaced the steering position sensor on my 08 CC which involved pulling the column and working down there and my body doesn't like those contortions. If the seat wasn't in the way it might be easier.

Not easy to take the seat out?

That was awful nice of the kid. Not many people would take the time to do that now/not many people would appreciate us doing it. I tried to let a lady know about her brake lights being out about 6 months ago and got cussed out for it

It definitely was, I’m thinking he saw a modded truck and figured whoever was driving it cared about it being a fellow car guy he did the right thing, I’m just glad I didn’t get rear ended somewhere just drivers around here are brutal

Might I make a suggestion. That compressor has a air filter. I would run it up in the cabin with the air line out to under the chassis. It will make the compressor last 2-3 years longer. If you must mount underneath get either a sealed compressor or make a splash shield to surround it.

I do allot of these and have over 10 years experience just doing air horns.

Yeah I do plan on making a remote location for the filter. This was just getting everything mounted up. I still have to run the wire and air lines. The splash shield is a good idea too!

Agreed. I pulled up next to a mis-firing ford one day and heard WHY it was mis-firing. Got the passengers attention and he rolled the window down.... "HEY! YOU'VE GOT A PLUG WIRE OFF OR SOMETHING. I CAN HEAR IT ARCING AGAINST THE BLOCK"

His reply, "Oh no shit! Man, we've been wondering why this thing's been running like crap! Thanks man!"
