So what do you think it could be? Burning a little oil?

Most of that build up is from driving 30 miles with no spark. Also the gap was around .075.

Put a new AC Delco plug in gapped at .06 and codes are gone and it’s running normal again. Going to swap all new plugs in tomorrow night this will get me to work and back.

Might pull a scan tomorrow and send to BBP for review.

So other then the spark plug, what was the cause of your misfire?

At this point I really don’t know. Spark plug might have just taken a crap. I checked the oil and it’s normal, level is right where it was last time I checked it. Doesn’t seem to be burning much oil if any and since it wasn’t high and didn’t have gas in the oil I know no gas washed by the rings while driving it with the misfire. That rules out blow by issues. Plug wire was normal, but just to make sure after the code was gone I swapped the wire from cyclinder 7 to 3 and 3 to 7. If the misfire shows up on 7 tomorrow then I know it’s the plug wire.

Well changed plugs and wires today. My plug wires were I guess melted to the ends of the plugs. I had to rip the boots off piece by piece on all 8 that was not fun. But all in all not to bad. 53f74abbbfaee06a1606e97ded4fa526.jpg
