Why are you stripping it, in order to paint it? I’ve just seen guys doing a light scuff at the most, then using adhesion promoter.

Yea I see a lot of guys doing this method on retro forums and wanted to try it. I'm not doing anything with this light. Except trying things out. I'm thinking about buying a D2s projector and seeing what I need to do to make it fit in the headlights. Then building a set and selling my current set.

Cleaned the ground connections on the body under the driver's side seat. One of the two bolt holes was stripped so I put a bolt and nut through it. Painted it all with rattle can black.

Also did some troubleshooting on my 4x4. The front wheels don't have power in 4hi, but do in Auto. Checked the front diff actuator with the Tech2 and it works fine. I think my transfer case control module is bad, since I have only 5v at the switch and everything I can find says it should be 8v. Pulled the TCCM to do a little simple bench testing for voltages. I hope this is a module and not a wiring problem!

EDIT: no codes, stored or active.

Finally had a chance to do a quick wash on the Yuk, after the salty nasty snow and slush. I'm pretty happy with this 15-year-old paint. She's purty! But I need to fix quite a few paint chips.. So I'm getting ready to order this dupli-color scratch fix touch up paint.. Never had good luck with these kind of repairs.. I know I'll need to fill the color, and somehow apply clear coat on top, and I will need to sand and buff, polish, wax, etc.. but I really have no idea what I'm doing. I'd rather improve it, than make it worse, so any pointers, or step by step would be very much appreciated!IMG_3993.jpg IMG_3994.jpg

Let us know how the painted projector bowl turns out if its different in terms of light reflection or output compared to your current lights. I thought about painting the projector bowl but didnt. I used 600 grit as well and bulldog adhesion promoter.
