That’s why I painted my grill. Zero chrome on my truck. Well, except those spots inside the Anzo headlights and that’s because they’re Permaseal. I did retrofit them though by using brackets so I didn’t have to open them up. But that little bit if chrome still bothers me. :mad:View attachment 343691
Paint matched grills for the win!
(I do miss the yukon already )

I’ve been having great fun for the last week trying to figure out why my trans keeps going into what I believe is limp mode. It drives fine for awhile and then seems to go into third gear and won’t shift unless I manually downshift and even then won’t go into 4th. I pulled the pan snd replaced all 3 shift solenoids because it might be it but nope. Performabuilt told me to unplug the trans and see if it’s the same. Which it was except then it threw 12 codes. So it looks like it’s either wiring or the ECM. I data logged a run today where it drove fine for 15 minutes snd then did it’s thing, and sent it to Blackbear for Justin to look over but that could be weeks so I ordered a used ECM and I’ll program it to my VIN and then program my tune. $50 shot in the dark.
Mark, that's exactly how my Tahoe acted last summer when someone tried to steal it. The dealer said that the theft attempt had put it in that mode as an anti-theft measure to limit the thieves' ability to drive it. When they were doing the steering column repairs they reset it with their computer and everything went back to normal. I'm not sure if this is something done with the Tech2, or if they have something else that they do it with. Maybe yours somehow got set into this mode?

Wow that would've been a score! I wonder the code was? Hopefully it is something serious--so you won't feel bad lol.

he said it was a misfire on cylinder4 I was there when the guy started it up after it had sat for who knows how long, it purred like a kitten so probably was a plug/wire/coil at worst.
o'well I would have been there first but I took my time getting out the door

Wasted 3 more hours on the goodridge center brake hose haha. Still leaky junk. Even with the stupid impossible to seat and make sure it’s in right “fix” washer. New Oem one went on in 10 minutes. Last one lasted 16 years and was still good, that’ll be enough of that for me!

Well, thanks for playing! Seriously though, once I heard they had a fix, I considered trying to contact them to see if I could just get a set of center lines. Hearing that they still put up a fight at best, I don’t feel half bad with new rubber lines in there.

I’d like to see how other guys managed to fit the little washer in the hose and connect them. PITA up there. Who knows if it was on right when I got them threaded together, it still leaked so probably not lol. One of The threads on the bottom was trash too, so new OEM it was. I hate they don’t have the indexing ears for the bracket either, makes it that much more difficult way up in there to hold another wrench. Not worth the trouble for me, since it still leaked. This is how I assumed the copper washer is supposed to go, but getting it to stay while doing all that was next to impossible . With no directions or explanation, I guessed that was the the right fitting to apply it to, who knows ?!

Trying to beat the heat!
Vinyl wrapped my sunroof today. Figured a window pointing straight at the sun is going to make the inside hotter. With the shade shut I figure it’s at least a few square feet of black still, so now it’s beige.

Would have loved to match the 382e paint code, but this was about as close as I saw, then I figured error on the light side.
With the sunroof I figure it won’t be seen much anyway, but then I got a dumb idea…
Would it look awful to try to wrap the grill surround with this stuff? Sample roll sitting on the bumper… maybe plastidip the grill.
