Well....I started the teardown today. Doing it myself as I can't justify $2400 for something I can do myself. Got the intake loose and ready to remove in less than an hour. Didn't want to strip it and leave it open tonight. Will resume back tomorrow after work and hopefully be done Saturday afternoon. I should have started back on Monday=/ but I been busy after work with the family. ProComp valve spring tool will be here tomorrow as well.

Well, she had to be towed for the first time in her life today. I lost a drive shaft u joint cap at 75mph. I heard a “BAM” followed by a ton of shaking. Thankfully a new u joint fixed her right up and no lasting damage from the vibration is apparent after an 80mph test drive.

Amazing how much that tiny amount of weight can make things vibrate and shake when it flies off!

If I’m being completely honest, I replaced my factory U joints in October 2020 and at the time I remember one of the caps not going on smoothly. I probably caused this myself by not taking the time to make sure it was 100% correct at the time. Oh well, to err is human, I suppose.

Started it up this morning to go rent a lawn aerator. Massive annoying loud whine through the stereo (left speaker only). Was really annoying. Thankfully disconnected the large connector under the cup holder and reconnecting it solved it. I’ll probably disconnect it again and spray some Deoxit if it happens again.

If easy enough to do, maybe just hose the connectors down Deoxit anyway. Won't hurt to clean up the contacts even more.

Both heads at the machine shop for a valve job and cleaning. Having them replace the valve stem seals and new springs as well. Should have them back Tuesday. One of my lifters had pitting on the roller, causing the noise.
